Japan!!

I started to learn Japanese a month ago. The reason why I want to learn this language is because Japan has become a well-known country which is famous for its advanced technology. We see Japanese wherever we go and whatever goods we buy. I think it's crucial to have a better understanding in this language to everyone of us.

Recently, I have come out another reason for learning this language, that is: TRAVELING!! I happened to open a file in my computer, which were lots of photos my mom took when she went to Japan with my aunt last winter. That was gorgeous!! I want to learn this language well and then travel to Japan someday without the aid of travel agency or tour guide! I believe I can do it!!

Here are some of the pictures my mom took in Hokkaido. Aren't they beautiful??

Vacation

Finally, this semester is coming to an end, which also means the final exam is coming as well. I don't care about the final exam, or, I don't want to think about the final exam, because we can do nothing about it! All we could do is studying, studying, and studying. After all, we are students, and that is exactly what we should do.

Whatever!

Mom said we might spend the Lunar New Year in Tainan, but not at our home in Taipei. She read an article in the newspaper and it named many famous hotels in Tainan, so she wants to give a try. I like her plan! I don't like the feeling of being too cold or too hot, so I think it's a brilliant way to spend our vacation in Tainan in such a cold winter! Oh, what a sweet mom!!

I Hate Dentists!

Last Friday, I had my wisdom tooth taken out. Um.. Actually, there were two of them: the one on the upper right and the one on the lower right.

I only planed to pull out the lower right one, but the dentist in NTU Hospital told me that all of my wisdom teeth grew the wrong way! That is, I have to pull out all of my four wisdom teeth! OH MY! We then decided to pull out the upper right one and the lower right one on that day. JESUS!!

Before long, I was asked to lie on the chair. Believe me, no matter how tired I am, I'll never lie on that horrible chair actively! Soon, the dentist showed up. I was glad that there was an experienced dentist in charge of my operation, but I soon regretted. I found out that "Inexperienced = Gentle", and "Experienced = Rude"!! He was like dealing with something he hated! Hello! Those were my teeth!!

It took him almost an hour to finish this operation, which he thought should only take him less than half an hour. After his TORTURE, I finally could get up from that cold chair. Since then, I have a puffed right cheek and a normal left cheek. It makes me look like a silly clown. And most importantly, I have difficulty eating or chewing! The only thing I can do is drinking. It drives me crazy!! I hope I will be able to eat normally pretty soon.

"My dear dear delicacies! Wait for me!!"

My Wisdom Tooth

After a careful examination of my teeth, my dentist told me that I don't have any decayed tooth in my mouth, which was a good news to me. But she then told me that there IS something wrong with my wisdom tooth...

It is really a naughty tooth. It doesn't want to follow the path it should be; instead, it appeared in a strange way. It almost lies down and therefore pushes the tooth in front of it, which is the reason why I had a terrible toothache. The dentist also told me that I must pull out this tooth because the angle it makes will keep it from growing out of the gums (牙齦), which means that even though the tooth has finally finished growing, it is still in the gums. I don't even want to imagine this picture!!

Anyway, I have to face the music that I have to pull out this tooth. Many of my senior high school classmates have already experienced this operation (the dentists do call this an OPERATION because it's not an easy job). And believe me, that was really a miserable life. I made an appointment this Friday (which also means I won't be present in English class) because mom said I could have a better rest on Saturday and Sunday. Well, I can do nothing about it. I think I need some good luck...

Here's the X-RAY of my wisdom tooth and the teeth near it.

Christmas

I'm not a Christian. To me, Christmas is just another day for businessmen to make more and more money!

Every year from the first day of December, you can see all kinds of merchandise or sales promotion related to Christmas, such as "Christmas Dolls" from convenience stores, "Christmas Special Meal" from restaurants, "Christmas Discounts" from bookstores, department stores and so on. Every store tries their best to catch consumers' attention and persuades them to spend as much money as they can.

I have heard that people in Western countries are more addicted to "Christmas Sales" in December because they have a long vacation for Christmas and New Year. They even think it essential for a whole family to decorate Christmas trees together. I love the idea of gathering all the family members on this holiday - just like the Moon Festival in Taiwan - it is a yearly reunion for them.

I wanted to spend my Christmas Eve (12/24) and Christmas Day (12/25) with my mom, but she had to work late. To make things worse, I had to work (a part-time job) on Christmas Day, too! So if you ask me what I've done on Christmas, my answer would definitely be "Making money!".

Toothache

Ouch! It' hurts! I'm not sure if there's something called "decayed tooth" in my mouth (what a shame...) or my wisdom tooth can't wait to meet the world... No matter what the answer is, I don't like this feeling at all!! It is definitely a barrier to delicacies!! Oh no!!!!
