I Hate Dentists!

Last Friday, I had my wisdom tooth taken out. Um.. Actually, there were two of them: the one on the upper right and the one on the lower right.

I only planed to pull out the lower right one, but the dentist in NTU Hospital told me that all of my wisdom teeth grew the wrong way! That is, I have to pull out all of my four wisdom teeth! OH MY! We then decided to pull out the upper right one and the lower right one on that day. JESUS!!

Before long, I was asked to lie on the chair. Believe me, no matter how tired I am, I'll never lie on that horrible chair actively! Soon, the dentist showed up. I was glad that there was an experienced dentist in charge of my operation, but I soon regretted. I found out that "Inexperienced = Gentle", and "Experienced = Rude"!! He was like dealing with something he hated! Hello! Those were my teeth!!

It took him almost an hour to finish this operation, which he thought should only take him less than half an hour. After his TORTURE, I finally could get up from that cold chair. Since then, I have a puffed right cheek and a normal left cheek. It makes me look like a silly clown. And most importantly, I have difficulty eating or chewing! The only thing I can do is drinking. It drives me crazy!! I hope I will be able to eat normally pretty soon.

"My dear dear delicacies! Wait for me!!"

My Wisdom Tooth

After a careful examination of my teeth, my dentist told me that I don't have any decayed tooth in my mouth, which was a good news to me. But she then told me that there IS something wrong with my wisdom tooth...

It is really a naughty tooth. It doesn't want to follow the path it should be; instead, it appeared in a strange way. It almost lies down and therefore pushes the tooth in front of it, which is the reason why I had a terrible toothache. The dentist also told me that I must pull out this tooth because the angle it makes will keep it from growing out of the gums (牙齦), which means that even though the tooth has finally finished growing, it is still in the gums. I don't even want to imagine this picture!!

Anyway, I have to face the music that I have to pull out this tooth. Many of my senior high school classmates have already experienced this operation (the dentists do call this an OPERATION because it's not an easy job). And believe me, that was really a miserable life. I made an appointment this Friday (which also means I won't be present in English class) because mom said I could have a better rest on Saturday and Sunday. Well, I can do nothing about it. I think I need some good luck...

Here's the X-RAY of my wisdom tooth and the teeth near it.

Christmas

I'm not a Christian. To me, Christmas is just another day for businessmen to make more and more money!

Every year from the first day of December, you can see all kinds of merchandise or sales promotion related to Christmas, such as "Christmas Dolls" from convenience stores, "Christmas Special Meal" from restaurants, "Christmas Discounts" from bookstores, department stores and so on. Every store tries their best to catch consumers' attention and persuades them to spend as much money as they can.

I have heard that people in Western countries are more addicted to "Christmas Sales" in December because they have a long vacation for Christmas and New Year. They even think it essential for a whole family to decorate Christmas trees together. I love the idea of gathering all the family members on this holiday - just like the Moon Festival in Taiwan - it is a yearly reunion for them.

I wanted to spend my Christmas Eve (12/24) and Christmas Day (12/25) with my mom, but she had to work late. To make things worse, I had to work (a part-time job) on Christmas Day, too! So if you ask me what I've done on Christmas, my answer would definitely be "Making money!".

Toothache

Ouch! It' hurts! I'm not sure if there's something called "decayed tooth" in my mouth (what a shame...) or my wisdom tooth can't wait to meet the world... No matter what the answer is, I don't like this feeling at all!! It is definitely a barrier to delicacies!! Oh no!!!!

Scholarship :)

Congratulations to me! I got my first scholarship in my freshman year! Well, it's not because I did a great job in my economics or calculus exams (of course not) but because that I passed the GEPT High-Intermediate exam. I passed the exam last year, and I think that I was on the summit if my "English Ability Pyramid", because we had to take hundreds if thousands of quizzes everyday at that time. I even think that I may not be able to pass the exam now...

Anyway, I'm glad that I decided to take the exam and passed it so that I could get this scholarship. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the money. Maybe I'll go to a bookstore in these days and buy some English books to improve my English ability more.

A Creative Person I Admire

"In music, you just can't escape when something is beautiful," Ray Charles once said.

Ray Charles Robinson (September 23, 1930 ~ June 10, 2004), was a legendary singer, pianist, and composer. He was such a creative person that I can't help falling into his music!

Ray had a hard time in his childhood. His mother died when he was young, and he lost his sight at the age of seven, but these events didn't keep him away from his talent.
He broke so many rules of music at that time. Country, blues, jazz, R&B and even funk, Ray has set the standards of them for more than five decades. He devoted himself to create new music styles. Ray has released over 250 albums, and many of them are top sellers in a variety of musical genres. He also won many awards due to his dedication to music.
Even though Ray has passed away for 3 years and no more music pieces will come out; but to me, he is definitely a creative person that will never be forgotten.

I'm Out of Time!!

I need more time! I need more than 24 hours a day! I have plenty of things to do but never have enough time to finish them!

I used to be the kind of girl who always finishes doing everything before going to bed and always be in time for school or any appointment. But now I'm usually in a rush, and being late has become a part of my daily routine. I even become a forgetful person for that I don't have time to memorize things, although I think it's a ridiculous excuse.

Few weeks ago, someone asked me, "What do you usually do on weekends?" To my surprise, I don't know the answer either. I think it's time for my self-examination. I should learn to be a time controller instead of being controlled by time. I want to finish all the things written on my schedule book as soon as possible!

SAY NO TO BEING THE SLAVE OF TIME!
